Jalandhar, October 12, 2016: Proving true to the initiative of integrated education taken by Cambridge School so as to provide special students a chance of fulfilled existence, twelve students from the Department of Counselling and Special Needs participated in the 19 State Special Olympics, Punjab Chapter on the 7th and 8th of October, in Lovely Professional University.
Over 500 special students participated from across the State of Punjab. Students participating were representing 46 Schools and many NGOs.
There were also over 200 volunteers and 50 coaches supporting the event.
On 7thOctober, students from Cambridge International School participated in the ‘Inaugural March Past Ceremony’. They marched with perfection holding high the flag of Cambridge School.
On 8th October, students from Cambridge International School participated in the Cultural Evening organized at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, LPU. The Cultural Evening was inaugurated by performance of Cambridge students leading the show. Our children presented an Action Song-“Have you got the Sunshine Smile”. They were greatly applauded for cheering up the entire gathering with such a vibrant and uplifting song.
Teachers from the Department of Special Needs Grace Daniel, Geetima Devi, Akshay Kumar, Rajandeep Kaur and Ankita Gulati assisted the children.
Our Special Educator Ms Grace Daniel was felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner K.K. Yadav on the evening of cultural event and by Mr. S.P. Singh Oberoi as the Guest of Honour during the closing ceremony.

Kohli, CEO LWES Dr Birjesh, Director LWES Mr. Nitin Kohli, Chief Education Officer LWES Ms. Deepa Dogra, Directors of Education LWES Ms Meenu Huria and Ms. Preeti Sharma and Director and Principal Ms. Kiranjoth Dhillon congratulated Special Needs Department for motivating the students in order to enhance their confidence to perform at such a level. They also applauded Special Educator Grace Daniel for such selfless service extended towards society.
