PPCB to form high level committee consists of industrialists and Officers to resolve issues

Ludhiana, October 4, 2018: PPCB will form a high level committee consists of industrialists and officers to resolve issues related to PPCB & control the pollution in the state, this was came our during an interaction of CICU members with Prof.Satwinder Singh Marwaha, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana said that there are many issues related to the PPCB being faced by the Industrialists, which are as under:
• Rain Water Harvesting, Prepare Mechanism for use of Husk Ash,
• VDS Scheme for Grant of Consent, Setting Up Separate Zone for Red Category Industries, Speedy Setting up CETPs for Dyeing Industry,
• Providing Subsidy and Low Cost Rate of Interest for Purchase of Equipments for Controlling Pollution
• Flexibility in Disposal of Effluent upto 25%
• Setting up a committee to find new technology & procedures for pollution free manufacturing (Green Manufacturing)
Er. Krunesh Garg, Member Secretary, Punjab Pollution Control Board took up all the issues regarding PPCB and discussed one by one with the industrialists present in the meeting. He also said that the government is taking initiative to clean the Buddha Nullha and PPCB is open for the suggestions, ideas, which can help PPCB to clean the Buddha Nullha.
Prof. Satwinder Singh Marwaha, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board said that the Industry should follow the standards set up by PPCB. PPCB needs help of the industry to control the pollution, because we are with the industry not against the Industry.
He also assured that the PPCB will form a high level committee consists of industrialists and Officers to resolve issues related to PPCB & control the pollution in the state.
He also planted a tree in the CICU Complex.
Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU emphasized on following points:-
• Exempting to New Industrial Units in Designated Industrial Areas Marked in Master Plan Ludhiana for Obtaining NOC from District Town Planner under Section 79.
• Grant of Permanent Consent for Green Category Units:-
• Waiver off Submission of Approved Building Plan in Designated Industrial Areas.
• Publishing Latest Comprehensive Guidelines on Pollution Clearance for Industrial Units:
• Control of Pollution for Sources other than Industries
• Charges for Issue of Consent Based on Value of Machinery.
• PPCB give Consent for Constructions of Multi Storied Buildings for Industrial Units.
• PPCB to Waive off Submission of CLU Certificate and PTM.
• Setting up of Environment Friendly Treatment Plant.
• Issue of Hadda Rodi.
Er. Pawan Garg, Chief Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board and other officials of PPCB are also present in the meeting.
