PPBM delegation meets ETC Punjab; hopeful for solution to traders’ problems

Chandigarh/Ludhiana/Amritsar, January 25, 2013: A deputation of Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) under the presidentship of Amrit Lal Jain met Excise and Taxation Commissioner (ETC), Punjab Anurag Verma in Chandigarh on Thursday, to discuss about the problems and difficulties being faced by the traders’ community of the state.

The meeting continued for two hours. “It was held in a very cordial manner and ETC gave us a very patient hearing”, said Jain who hails from Amritsar.

He told that ETC seriously listened to them and assured to resolve all the issues.

Jain told that they took up several issues related to the traders’ community in Punjab. He said the issue of certain discrepancies in VAT Form 15 were taken up with ETC. Now, they hoped that these discrepancies would be removed in the near future, and a revised VAT Form 15 would come up.

Jain told that the delegates also took up the issue of shortage/non-availability of form C. In reply, ETC assured them that soon form C would be made online, as work was in progress in this regard.

The issue of delay in releasing VAT refunds was also raised before ETC, said Jain, adding they sought that it should be ensured that the 75 per cent VAT refund be released within thirty days and the remaining at a later stage. On this, ETC assured them that a solution to the problem would be found in the near future, he said.

Meanwhile, the PPBM state secretary Mohinder Aggarwal who hails from Ludhiana, said ETC assured the delegates that VAT payment procedure would be made online within a fortnight. He said ETC also assured that form -C would be made online by March 31.

Among others, Pyare Lal Seth, Vinimra Gupta, Kasturi Lal Mittal, Mohinder Aggarwal, OP Gupta, LR Sodhi, Virender Ratam, Ashwani Mahajan and Sunil Mehra were included in the delegation.
