Gurmeet Singh Kular Chairman & Harpal Singh Bhamber President of Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers Association (JSSMA) submits memorandum to Kuldeep Singh Additional SE (XEN Janta Nagar Special Division), PSPCL, at Ludhiana on Wednesday.

Ludhiana, May 14, 2014: Gurmeet Singh Kular Chairman & Harpal Singh Bhamber President of Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers Association (JSSMA) met Kuldeep Singh Additional SE (XEN Janta Nagar Special Division), PSPCL, regarding problems of electricity faced by industrialists specially from Janta Nagar Special Division.
They highlighted the issues as under:
INTEREST ON ACD CREDIT: As per norms of Punjab State Power Corporation limited  they will have to pay 12% Interest per annum on Advance Consumption Deposit (ACD) but specially Janta Nagar Special Division is not paying interest to the  SP/MS/DS/NRS Consumers from the last 4 years. In this regard Kuldeep Singh Xen assured the delegation that in this month advice regarding credit of interest on ACD will be sent to Central Billing Cell (CBC) & the interest will be credit in the coming energy bills.
UNSCHEDULED POWER CUTS: It was requested that unscheduled power cuts should not be imposed because in this division micro & small industry exists & this industry do not have generator sets. Further they discussed although there is 70% industry but in that area is falling under category 1. So it should be bring under category 2. Kuldeep Singh told that there is no power cut in the division but due to regular maintenance of feeder they have to shutdown the supply. Further they told that if there will be any shutdown they will inform to the association.
FAST RELEASE OF PENDING CONNECTIONS IN MIXED LAND: It was discussed that 641 pending applications of 8931 kW are still pending. He told that 198 demand notices are issued up 10:05:2011 & 541 industrial connections of 5038 kW load has been sanctioned under VDS scheme up to 7:5:2014. Augmentation of transformers is in progress & our all transformers are under load.
CHANGE OF CATEGORY IN VDS: In the VDS industries cannot get the benefit because there is a cap for category change. The industries cannot increase load because whenever it do so then category remains same. If industries have 13 kW then it can increase up to 19 kW but if industries have 19 kW then it cannot increase load. The officer said this is policy matter. However, he will recommend to the higher authority for change of category because by this maximum MSME industry can get the benefit.
