POST-panchayat-poll firing at Basti Mohan Singh Wala, none hurt

Ferozepur, July 5, 2013: An incident of firing at Basti Mohan Singh Wala after the counting of votes has been registered, under Arms Act under Sections 336,341,188,148,149 IPC, on the complaint of Jabsir Singh son of Bhan Singh of Basti Mohan Singh Wala (Dhakhli Joaura).

Giving this information, Jagdish Lal, Inquiry Officer appointed in this case said, “On July 3, after the elections at about 6 PM, when the candidate for Sarpanch of the complaint was defeated, the accused mentioned in the FIR namely, Lakhwinder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Dra Singh Jassa Singh of village Jaura and Nishan Singh of village Kothe Ambar Har, challenged with intention to give a call for fight and started firing”.

However, there was no causality reported in the case but a case has been registered against the alleged accused at Mallanwala police station and further investigation in to the case has been initiated. 

There is no arrested in this so far, he added.
