POOR PATIENT URGENTLY NEEDS HELP

Ludhiana, March 6, 2017: Mr Bhanu – a daily wager mason – was in a difficult situation. His wife – Mrs Veena suffered a heart attack and was referred to the Cardiac Care Centre of the Ludhiana Mediways Hospital , Ludhiana . Here she was immediately managed by a team of superspecialists . Dr Harinder Singh Bedi – Chairman Cardiac Sciences – told that on investigation it was found that Mrs Veena was suffering from a severe blockage of all 3 heart arteries and was in imminent danger of a further heart attack. Dr Bedi who has earlier worked in cardiac surgery in the St Vincents Hospital Sydney – said that ladies nowadays are not immune to heart disease . What he had seen 20 years back in Australia ie rising trend of heart disease in women – is being seen now in India too.
While being stabilised in hospital – Mrs Veena developed severe chest pain which did not respond to medicine . Realising the gravity of the situation Dr Bedi and the Heart Team took the patient for an early bypass surgery . Mr Bhanu has meagre financial resources and would not be able to meet even the subsidised charges . So Dr Bedi and team decided to go ahead with the surgery . Mrs Veena had a triple bypass surgery and her heart condition stabilised .
