Dharamshala, January 25, 2018: Himachal police have laid its roadmap to curve the drug and mining mafia, especially in the bordering area with Punjab. Intimating this, the Kangra SSP Santosh Patial told this correspondent here that both state police department shall work together to check this social menace. He said, “I shall be having a meet with SP Pathankot and SP Hoshiarpur of Punjab, whose area is bordering our district, to chalk out a programme to work together. This meet will organise in the first week of February in year.”
He said that the Kangra police are already speeded up the action against these activities in border area and registered 42 cases in illegal mining and 12 in the NDPC Act, and recovered more than Rs.1.90 lakh of revenue in last 12 days. Patial said that a sum of Rs 4.57 lakh was received as challan money in the violation of traffic rules in the district in last 12 days after he assumed the office of SP in Dharamshala.
He has taken some important steps to ease out the traffic jam problem of some bottleneck areas of the city as immediate relief to the public.
Giving more details about Patial said, “Thousands of labour assemble in Gandhi Chowk Kotwali Bazar every morning are now been directed to gather daily at Dari mela ground. Similarly the private Volvo buses and taxis which park in the evening near Maximus Mall as a start point for Delhi been shifted to McLeodganj bypass near Dharamshala ISBT. The trucks loaded with dry fodder too now will only unload at Dari ground. These small steps will ease out traffic moment within city.” Patial said that a long term traffic moment and parking roadmap shall be chalked out soon for the entire district.
