Ludhiana, July 9, 2013: The Salem Tabri police have solved a two-month-old blind murder case of an elderly woman Mohinder Kaur (60) of Bajigar Basti with the arrest of her daughter-in-law Kulwinder Kaur.
Mohinder Kaur was found brutally murdered on May 4.
Police arrested the accused on Monday after thorough investigations. A wooden stick has been recovered from possession of the accused. Besides, police have recovered cash worth Rs. 1 lakh from her. Interestingly, the recovered cash was found hidden in the mattresses.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Satvir Singh Atwal and the ACP J. Elanchezian said strained relations between the deceased and the accused were cause of the murder.
They said a verbal dispute had arisen between both of them a day before occurrence of the incident. Again it happened on the day of crime following which Kulwinder Singh killed her mother-in-law with the help of a wooden stick and stole cash worth Rs. 1.23 lakh after broke open a trunk of the deceased with an iron rod to misguide the police.
