ISB (Mohali), October 28, 2015: Poland and Punjab today vowed to rewrite new chapter of industrial growth with Poland offering latest state-of-the-art technology for food processing industry besides evolving a new vision for agriculture growth for the food bowl of India.
Inaugurating the session Mr Witold Jerzy Pietrewicz, Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy said that Poland was quiet enthused with the partnership with food bowl of India i.e. Punjab and said that with the agriculture growth of Punjab and technology of Poland, Punjab can become food processing hub that can meet the processed food requirements of 50 percent of Asia. Offering to double its investment to food processing sector, he said that Punjabis and Polish shared the qualities of entrepreneurship underlining the need to focus on advanced technologies in agriculture and food processing, research and development in agriculture besides real organic farming. He said that Poland has also signed MoU between Punjab and Lublin today to give a boost to business ties especially in agriculture and food processing sectors. He announced that Poland will intensify the cooperation with Punjab in business sectors in time to come. He said that the Poland and Punjab will witness economic development by promoting trade exchange.
While addressing the session Krzysatof Grabczuk, Representative of Polish Local Government, said that Poland and Punjab will together explore great business relations. He said that Poland will become promising business partner for Punjab and the both have taken right direction in this field.
Lucyna Jaremczuk, Counsellor General at the Ministry of Economy in her address welcomed and thanked the Punjab Government for inviting Poland to become an active partner in the Investors Summit. She said that they were envisaging Punjab as engine of growth in food processing and agriculture sectors. She said like Punjabis, the Polish were also quite friendly and they can put new milestones in the field of development and economic growth in collaboration with each other.
The Poland ministry delegation also announced that Poland and Punjab Agriculture University will intensify research and development activities in food processing and agriculture sectors so that phenomenal strides in this area could be witnessed in future. The delegation also said that the Polish side will also provide know how for food processing sector to Punjab.
The other members of delegation including Stanislaw Krzaczek of Krzacazek, Mr. Marek Kudach of Kalgrup, Piotr Nakonienczny of Sonet, Cezary Szczurowski of Krystian, Grzegorz Lubas of ERES Medical were also shared their views on various issues relating to business, trade and industrial sector.
Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Suresh Kumar welcomed and thanked the delegation for their positive perspectives of investment in Punjab. Highlighting the similarities between Poland and Punjab Mr. Suresh Kumar accompanied by other senior officers of Punjab Government also honoured the members of delegation.
