POACON-2019 conference starts

Ludhiana, October 19, 2019: Two-day conference 25th Annual Conference of Punjab Orthopaedic Association (POACON 2019) organized by Department of Orthopaedics, DMCH, Ludhiana got to a colorful start by organizing ‘cadaver dissection workshop’ for the budding orthopaedic surgeons.

Secretary Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said that conference POACON 2019 will be of immense help to the participating delegates as new advancements in the field of Orthopaedics will be shared by distinguished guest speakers with participating delegates. He emphasized that DMCH has an ultramodern facility of preserving cadavers, which is very rare in the region and such cadaveric dissection workshops help the budding doctors to experiment in such cadaveric bodies.

Organizing Chairperson- Dr Rajnish Garg (Professor & Head of Orthopaedics) said that the first day of workshop is a hands-on-training workshop for the participating delegates and will expose them to a lot of new techniques pertaining to orthopedic surgery. The workshops held today include Arthroscopy Workshop, Hip Arthroplasty Workshop and Lower Limb Trauma workshop.

Organizing Secretary-Dr Pankaj Mohindra (Associate Professor of Orthopedics) said that this two-day conference is going to cover many aspects pertaining to Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement and Trauma. During the workshops held today, delegates participated with great enthusiasm to know the intricacies of various orthopaedic procedures.

Other faculty members of the Orthopaedics Department-Dr Harpal Singh Selhi , Dr Deepak Jain, Dr Shekhar Singla and Dr Rashkesh Malhotra also participated as course co-ordinators in the workshop.
