Dharamshala, November 4, 2019: In the Global Investor Meet, the Kangra painting is being presented on the walls of Dharamshala city to depict local art for investors of the country and abroad including the Prime Minister. All the roads leading to the city have been smoothened . The city has been decorated with colourful lights.

The day and night work is on in the Police Ground the venue for the show in Dharamshala to make it ready well in time.

Investors will start reaching Dharamshala from November 5 to attend the Global Investor Meet to be organised here in Police Stadium on 7th and 8th November .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the investor meet on 7 th November and home minister Amit Shah would preside over the closing session on the following day. Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari, railways and commerce minister Piyush Goel, minister of state for tourism minister Prahlad Patel , Minister of State for Food Rameshwar Teli and minister of state for finance Anurag Thakur would also participate in the meet. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, NITI Aayog Vice President Rajiv Kumar, have also agreed to come.

Himachal Pradesh government has set a target of signing pacts worth ₹85,000 crores during the meet which will be attended by national and international investors, an official spokesperson said here today.

“Already MoUs worth ₹82,000 crore have been signed and more will follow during the event,” he said.

The chief minister of Himachal Mr Jai Ram Thakur has spent a year travelling the country, holding road shows in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and to the countries of Netherlands, Germany and United Arab Emirates (UAE) marketing Himachal Pradesh as an investment destination.

“UAE is partnering with us in hosting the Global Investor Meet,” said Thakur, “a large business delegation from UAE and Ambassadors for at least 16 countries would be participating in the meet.”

Led by central public sector undertakings, the largest investment interest shown is in the hydropower sector with MoU’s of Rs 28 Thousand crores signed, informed Thakur.

“Tourism has attracted the interest of the private sector with MoUs worth of Rs 15 Thousand crores being signed,” he said.

Other sectors in which investors have shown interest include horticulture, food processing, wellness, pharmaceuticals, education and industrialists, he added.

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur will meet administrative secretaries and departmental heads at Palampur this evening to take stock of the Investor's Meat preparations.

Rooms have been booked in hotels ranging from Dharamshala to Palampur, Dehra and Kangra for VIPs including investors.

Investors and VVIPs will stay in nine large private hotels in Dharamshala, including Hotel Pavilion, Hotel de Polo, Hotel Blossomus, Hotel Divine Himachal , Hotel Center Point, Hotel Moksha, Asia Residency, Hotel Indraprastha and Hotel Adivah. Apart from this, the administration has booked 1250 rooms in the surrounding area including Dharamshala, McLeodganj, Dharamkot and Bhagsunag.

All the five hotels of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation in Dharamshala and corporation’s hotels of Palampur and surroundings areas has been entirely booked for the show .
