Mithilesh Chaturvedi - Beechwale Bapu Dekh Raha Hai.

Mithilesh Chaturvedi is playing the role of Papaji on Sony SAB’s upcoming show Beechwale – Bapu Dekh Raha Hai. In an interview, he spoke in detail about his character and the upcoming show. He also gave an honest reply on being asked about the biggest difference between and Bollywood & Television. Read in detail:

Q. Tell us about your character Papaji in Sony SAB’s Beechwale.
Mithilesh: Papaji’s character is beyond the chaos of life and very calm. He has no aspirations and is simply going with the flow, without any transactions with the outside world. He is living life at his own pace now and is a follower of Gandhiji’s principles, not because he wants to but because he is simply following his father, who has alwaysdone the same. Papaji also makes his family practice it.

Q. How do you think Beechwale is different from any other show on television today?
Mithilesh: Other channels have non-fiction shows, historical shows, but none of them show what is happening insomeone’s present life. They show content that is similar to fantasy and not reality. Beechwale is made with a lot of effort and is about people who don’t fall in the category of higher class or the lower class. It shows the lives of the middle class – the Beechwale. It talks about problems and issues faced by the middle class today. Any fluctuation in the financial or political stateof the country mostly affect the middle class – Beechwale. There is a dialogue in the show, “Beechwale tab bhi maar khaate the aurbeechwale ab bhi maar khaatehain”.

Q. What made you say yes to this role?
Mithilesh: Firstly, Papaji’s character is so simple and at the same time, has various shades. To be honest, one of the most challenging tasks is to portray a simple character. Since I like challenges, I accepted the role as soon as it was offered to me.

Q. Which ‘Beechwala’ issue do you face/have faced in your day to day life?
Mithilesh: I have faced not one, but many Beechwala issues in my life. As Beechwale, we have been battling these problems on a daytoday basis. Not just me, but my ancestors too, were Beechwalas. Be it medicines, groceries, fuel etc. - any fluctuation in prices and the Beechwalas are affected. Being the middle class, there is no problem that we have not faced from start to end.

Q. Any message to share with the viewers?
Mithilesh: I have one message for them. Even ifBeechwale are stuck in the middle of things every time, they should not forget that they are the strongest part of this society. They can turn the situation around whenever they want. I want to tell them to wake up, look at their state and make an effort to get out of it, instead of beingstuck at one place like a sluggish python.

Q. What can the audiences expect from Sony SAB’s Beechwale?
Mithilesh: Viewers are able to relate to those shows, where their problems and issues are showcased. They are interested in watching the portrayal of their problems and the proposed solutions to those. According to me, at every point, they will see themselves in this show Beechwale and enjoy those moments shown on screen, which someday, would have happened to them too.

Q: What is the biggest difference between and Bollywood & Television?
Mithilesh: Films have a time constraint, with the need to tell the story in an hour, hour and half or two hours. However, that is not the case for TV shows. There, one has the freedom for elaborate storytelling.
