Players and staff of HPCA Women Wing getting national assignments: HPCA

Dharamshala, July 7, 2018: Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has indicated that four of the Himachal Women Cricketers have been included in the North Zone team for the upcoming Inter Zonal One Day Tournament for the U-19 Girls. According to the HPCA press release, these girls are Shivani Singh, Sonal Thakur, Pooja Negi and Preeti Kahlon.
Yudhister Katoch, Member Interim Committee, HPCA said, “The tournament will be held at Chennai from 16th to 25th July, 2018. This tournament will be conducted with 6 teams, one from each zone i.e North Zone, East Zone, South Zone, West Zone, North East Zone and Central Zone.”
He added that apart from this, the Himachal Women Sports Staff are outshining too. “Dr. Geeta Mehta has been appointed as the Team Coach-cum-Manager for the North Zone. Pushpanjali Banerjee has been appointed the Team Coach-cum-Manager for the North East Team and Veena Pandey has been appointed as the Trainer for the Center Zone.”
Katoch said, “Every time when we hear news of any cricketer from Himachal is getting selected in any national team, it thrills us to the core. And when our sports staff achieves the same, it is rather very happy news. They work hard every day to achieve this. We try and give them the best of the facilities and they try and give us the best of the results.”
