Dharamsala, March 24, 2016: If you wish to travel via Uttarakhand government run buses, think twice! The condition of UTC buses are so pathetic that it may often put you in jeopardy in middle of the journey in odd hours without the sense of responsibility of making alternate arrangements for the passengers. Surprisingly, no different attitude is observed, even in their luxury buses.
In a recent incident, a semi deluxe bus which was on its way from Dehradoon to Dharamsala (Himachal) was declared unfit at Chandigarh by driver and conductor for further journey in the mid night hours on 23rd March putting passengers in a state of utter perplexity. Sushma, Abhay, Suresh, Anju, Harsh, Seema, Jitender and Ridhima who were travelling upto Dharamshala (which was still 8 hours away), said that the conductor of their bus (No.UK 07 PA 1577) while replying to them said that he can't help them with any alternate arrangements to help them reach their destination. These passengers further informed that none of the UTC authorities attended their phone calls making the situation worse for them. As there was no other bus service available in Chandigarh during that hour and the buses leaving Chandigarh towards Dharamsala route were all jam packed due to Holi festival holidays, these passengers had no other option left but to book taxis.
