Ferozepur, October 29, 2012: Punjab Government Pensioners Association, staged protest, under the leadership of O. P. Gaba, Advocate, president, for postponing the release of arrears of pension.
Mohinder Singh, general secretary of the association said, the third installment of 43 months arrear, which was to be released with the pension for the month of November 2012, has now been ordered to be paid in May, 2013.
O. P. Gaba, Punjab President, PGPA and other executive members said, the government should release the 7 per cent DA installment before the Diwali festival besides the payment on account of arrears of 43 months as agreed upon with the pension for the month of November, 2012.
In the meeting, it was unanimously decided that all the pensions will stage a protest infront of the office of Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur on November 9 at 11 AM.
