PINEGROVE & THE GURUKUL REGISTER WINS ON DAY 2 OF WG CDR S S GYANI MEMORIAL CRICKET TOURNEY

Panchkula, October 3, 2016: Two matches were played today in the ongoing 7thWg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament 2016, at St.Soldier’s School, Sector 16 Panchkula. The first match of the day was played between Pinegrove School, Himachal Pradesh & Baptist School, Chandigarh.

The toss was won by Pinegrove School and they elected to bat. Pinegrove made 247 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 25 overs. Saksham scored 68(38) with eleven 4s & Three 6s. Tanvir made 34(27) & hit Four 4s & a 6. Sparsh Thakur remained unbeaten at 33(24) with Four 4s & a 6. For Baptist, Bhupinder took 3 wickets in his 4.4 over spell. Sarabjot took 2 wickets & Ritik 1 wicket.

In response Baptist were all out for a paltry 55 runs. Pushp was the highest scorer with 22(22) with Four 4s, Sanyam made 10(13) with Two 4s. For Pinegrove, while Tanvir took 4 wickets, Saksham & Lakshay took 2 wickets each. The match was won by Pinegrove School by a huge margin of 192 runs. Tanvir of Pinegrove was declared ‘Man of the Match’.

The second match of the day was played between The Gurukul, Panchkukla and Jainendra Public School, Panchkula. The toss was won by Jainendra and they elected to field. The Gurukul made 228 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. Harsh scored a swashbuckling 112 off 66 balls which included seven 4s & ten 6s. Bhavin made 40(20) with Four 4s & Three 6s. Abhinav scored 29(27) with two 4s & a Six. In Jainendra’s bowling department Amar took 2 wickets in 5 overs while Sahil Verma & Sahil Rapri took 1 wicket each. In response Jainendra scored 109 runs all out. Mohsin 42(28) hit Nine 4s and a 6. Sahil Verma made 24(34) with Three 4s. In The Gurukul’s bowling department Shantanu & Yogesh took 3 wickets each while Anmol took 2 wickets. The match was won by The Gurukul by 117 runs. Harsh of The Gurukul was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
