Photography competition marks day 4 of PAU Youth Fest

Ludhiana, November 2, 2014: The fourth day of  Inter College Youth Festival  at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) saw on the spot photography competition. Dippanjeet Kaur of College of Basic Sciences and Humanities secured first position whereas Dilkaran Singh of College of Agriculture and Sobat Mann of Institute of Agriculture, Gurdaspur got second and third position, respectively.
The Additional Director of Extension Education, Dr P.S. Aulakh who was the chief guest, said, “Photography competition is a unique part of PAU youth fest which highlights the keen photographic eye of the students to capture beautiful images, akin to life.” Stating that photography is a very lucrative occupation in present times, he said that students who become the master of this technology can adopt it as their profession.
The Guest of Honour, Dr Maninder Arora, Chief Warden (Girls), said that photography is an art which needs lot of practice and patience to sense the colour and composition of the life around. She appreciated the photographic skills of the participating students.
Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare informed that formal inauguration of PAU Youth Festival will be held on November 3. Sh. Rajat Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana will be the chief guest while Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU will preside over the inaugural session. She further said that Sh. Pramod Ban, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana will be the chief guest of the evening session. The cretaive dances, folk songs and music items will be held tomorrow, she added.
Earlier, Dr J.S. Bhalla, Organising Secretary of the festival, welcomed the dignitaries and the participants.
