Ludhiana, November 30, 2015: The fourth day of the Inter College Youth Festival 2015-16 at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) saw competitions in photography, shabad gayan (group and solo) and quiz. Earlier, during on the spot painting and rangoli events, young talents captured the attention of the onlookers with their innovative designs. Besides, students spoke confidently on the elocution topic “Culture – Identity of the Community.” During today’s events, students displayed their vocal skills, and clicked eye-catching photos. In addition, the general knowledge of the students was tested during quiz competition.
Dr Jaspal Singh, Chief Engineer, PAU who was the chief guest of the morning session, said, “Youth festivals provide a good exposure to the students.” He urged the students to become responsible citizens and serve the society with dedication and devotion.
The chief guest of the prize distribution function, Dr S.S. Sangha, Director Students’ Welfare, GADVASU, said the true spirit of participation is vital for success. Lauding the students for their remarkable performances, he gave away the certificates and prizes to the winners.
Dr P.N. Diwedi, President, University Speakers’ Forum, GADVASU, who presided over yesterday, said youth festival aims at providing an opportunity to the budding artistes to nurture their talent and give their best in a wide range of events.
