Players in action in the prelims of Idea Shan-e-Punjab Kabaddi Cup 2013 – an exclusive Kabaddi tournament organised by Idea Cellular, at DAV Collage, Phillaur on Sunday.
Phillaur (Jalandhar), March 31, 2013: The prelims of Idea Shan-e-Punjab Kabaddi Cup 2013 – an exclusive Kabaddi tournament organised by Idea Cellular, the country’s 3rd largest mobile operator – took place today at DAV Collage, Phillaur.
Actress Preeti Jhangiani, Famous Singers Jassi Jasraj and Jassi Gill also performed at the event.
The prelim matches, alongwith Gatka contests and demonstrations, took place and the winners from the competition have qualified for the state-level finals in Nawanshahr on April 12-13.
In the prelim, village Pharwala team won the Men’s match after defeating Mathada team claimed victory for the Women’s match, Barnala team beating Sangrrr Team. The exciting Gatka contest was won by the Mullanpur village team.
The two-day finale’s opening ceremony on April 12 will have appearances from Punjabi film stars and singers along with famous Kabaddi players. A road show is also a part of the programme. The final day of matches on April 13 will include a live performance by famous Punjabi singer - Jazzy B.
