Ludhiana, November 23, 2019: Perturbed over slow pace of work related to the installation of LED lights in the city, MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu has written a letter to CEO Smart City Punjab and had sought clarification on some matters related to the installation of LED lights by Tata company.
Earlier also in the month of September, she had written a letter to Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana and CEO Ludhiana Smart City over the same issue.
In the strong worded letter, Mrs Mamta Ashu, Councillor from ward number 67, demanded that after the completion of the deadline, penalty per week was to be imposed on the Tata company installing the LED lights. “Kindly let me know what has been done in this regard? Secondly, the last date for imposition of penalty was November 23, 2019. Kindly clarify that what action would be taken against the Tata company now?,” she questioned.
She further stated that in the Ludhiana MC General House meeting held recently, the CEO of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd had given a statement that no extension would be given to the company, but later three month extension was given to the company. “Who approved that three-month extension? I also request you to please clarify that who would be responsible for the financial loss borne by Municipal Corporation Ludhiana due to failure to achieve target of installation of LED streetlights in city. Have you fixed any responsibility of any official for the above raised questions? Now that the deadline of the completion of the project has also elapsed. What action would be taken against the officials responsible for this delay,” Councillor Mamta Ashu demanded.
She said that being an elected representative (Municipal Councillor) of MC Ludhiana, I have been raising peoples concerns/complaints from time to time. She has asked the CEO Smart City Punjab to get the points raised by her thoroughly investigated and reply as soon as possible.
