With a focus on overall development and improvement in employability and soft skills of students, a four-day Personality Development programme was held at the Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni.
The Students’ Welfare Organization of the university in collaboration with the Department of Business Management organized the programme. The programme was conducted by Vibhuti Dubey Negi, a Shimla based trainer with expertise in providing training to various government and private organisations. A total of 185 final year students of B Sc Horticulture and B Sc Forestry attended the programme in two groups.
A number of lectures and practical sessions on themes like Body Language, Effective Communication Skills, Listening Skills, ‘Being in the moment’ and 'I do not know concept' were held.
Dr KK Raina, Head Department of Business Management coordinated the programme. Dr Rakesh Gupta, Dean College of Horticulture and Dr PK Mahajan, Dean College of Forestry also addressed the students on the need and advantages of having a good personality.
Dr SK Gupta, Dean Students’ Welfare, informed that the feedback from the participants was excellent. He said that the university would be organizing such type of personality development sessions in the future as well.
