PCMS doctors of all over district observed “protest week

Ludhiana, March 18, 2013: In response to the call given by PCMS Association Punjab, the PCMS doctors of all over district observed “protest week” against the callous attitude of the Punjab Government for demands of doctors.

According to available information, the association is demanding to roll back new PG admission policy, to get specialist increments for all specialists, conveyance allowance for every doctor, SAG grade for SMO's, HAG grade for civil surgeons and specialist scale for specialists with ACP 2 and 6 years.

While giving details, Dr Sachin Goel, District General  Secretary of the association told that state health services had been facing the acute shortage of doctors.  Punjab Government was discouraging the doctors for these services by negative anti-doctor policies, he said, adding negative reversal of  rural area incentive and discriminatory PG increments for specialists had discouraged the doctors for PCMS Service.  

Dr Arun Gupta and Dr Avinash Jindal, District Vice Presidents of the association, condemned the callous attitude of the Punjab Government and demanded PG increments to all specialists’ and to roll back new eligibility policy of PG admission.  

Dr Balwinder Kumar, Regional Organising Secretary of association told that the PCMS doctors of Civil Surgeon office, Civil Hospital Ludhiana, Samrala, Jagraon, Raikot, Sudhar, Sahnewal and other hospitals also wore black badges and held protest meetings. 

The association said this protests would be continued in next days of week till acceptance of demands.
