Pawan Dewan submits application for Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat

Chandigarh, February 5: Punjab Congress General Secretary Pawan Dewan today submitted his application for the party nomination from Ludhiana parliamentary constituency in the ensuing General Elections.

Dewan, who has worked in the party for last 30 years, has also served as the District Congress Committee Ludhiana and District Youth Congress, Ludhiana.

Talking to reporters after submitting his application at the Punjab Congress Bhawan, Chandigrah, Dewan said, he was fully qualified for contesting from Ludhiana parliamentary constituency.

He claimed that he has spent his entire life in for the party in Ludhiana and served as the DCC president for 4 years and 4 years as DYC president. Besides, he looked after Ludhiana parliamentary constituency between 2004 and 2014.

Those present on the occasion included, Palwinder Singh Taggar, Satwinder Jawadi, Inderjit Kappor, Sunil Dutt, Tarlochan Singh Safri, Navnesh malhotra all Secretary PPPC, Dr Onkar Chand Sharma Vice President DCC Ludhiana, Avtar Singh, Anil Kumar Pappi, Bhadur singh, Naresh Kumar, Harbhagat Singh Grewal, Rajnesh Chopra, Baljit Ahuja all General Secretary DCC Ludhiana, Rohit Pahwa chairmen Youth Welfare Cell, Mani Kheva and Azad Sharma.

Meanwhile, it may be mentioned here that Ravneet Singh Bittu of Congress is the sitting MP from Ludhiana. Pawan Dewan belongs to the group of senior Congress leader and former MP from Ludhiana Manish Tiwari as such there seems to be chances of leg pulling among the party leaders to pocket the party ticket for Ludhiana parliamentary seat, believe the political observers. The reaction from Bittu is awaited.
