PAU YOUTH FEST CONCLUDES, COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE LIFTS OVERALL TROPHY

Ludhiana, November 3, 2017: The week-long Inter-College Youth Festival concluded at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) amidst gaiety and gusto. Vibrant performances in folk dances thrilled the spectators. The College of Agriculture, PAU, lifted the overall trophy.

The Chief Guest, Mr Pradeep Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students in fine arts, cultural and intellectual events. Later, he gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions.

Earlier, Dr R.K. Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, welcomed the chief guest and the senior officials, faculty and students of PAU and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.

During the prize distribution ceremony, the College of Agriculture clinched running trophies for literary, theatre, dance, heritage events and cultural procession. The College of Home Science won running trophy for music items while the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities bagged running trophy for fine arts events. In addition, Gurjeet Singh Kuku (College of Agriculture) and Sheena Malhotra (College of Agricultural Engineering) were adjudged as Best Dancers in bhangra and giddha, respectively. Amanpreet Kaur and Mankiran Kaur, students of the College of Home Science, were declared as Best Singers. Saurabh Bassi (College of Agricultural Engineering) and Guneet Kaur (College of Agriculture) were adjudged as Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. Titiksha Dua, a student of the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, was declared as Best Artist. Saachi Chugh (College of Agriculture) and Saranjot Singh (College of Agricultural Engineering) were adjudged as Best Speaker and Best Poet, respectively.
