PAU VC INAUGURATES PAMETI's NEW BUILDING

Ludhiana, October 10, 2016: The newly constructed building of Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) at Punjab Agricultural University was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr B.S.Dhillon, Vice Chancellor, PAU. Dr Sutantar Kumar Airi, Joint Director (Agriculture)-cum-State Nodal Officer (ATMA) also graced the occasion. Dignitaries from various institutes including PAU and GADVASU, experts and scientists of varied subject areas, officers from development departments and progressive farmers of the state were also present on the occasion.

Dr Dhillon lauded the efforts of PAMETI in up-gradation of its infrastructure keeping their future requirements in mind. He exhorted the need for more and more extensive training programmes for capacity building and skill development in the area of agricultural management and extension.

Dr Airi congratulated PAMETI and appreciated its efforts in empowering the extension workers with knowledge, skills and positive attitude through its training programmes.

Dr Jaspal Singh, Chief Engineer, PAU shared the details about the project including its cost and architectural design.

In his welcome address, Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Director, PAMETI, shared how the new infrastructure would help in addressing the capacity building needs of state extension functionaries. He discussed that the building houses a training hall with audio visual aids having a seating capacity of 60 people. The new building also has a provision for Information Technology (IT) Lab and faculty rooms, he told.

Ms Bharti Madan, Deputy Director (IT), PAMETI extended a floral welcome to the dignitaries.
