PAU STUDENT ANUPAM ANAND AWARDED ICSSR FELLOWSHIP

Ludhiana, January 16, 2018: Anupam Anand, a Ph.D research scholar, Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) Centrally Administered Doctoral Fellowship for the Ph.D research proposal entitled “Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) value chain analysis in Northern India.” His major advisor, Dr Manmeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Extension Education, said the proposed Ph.D research will cover 5 to 6 states of India and focus on the extent of participation of farmers and their linkages with various actors/stakeholders in the potato value chain. It will also measure the price margins of each actor involved as well as the efficiency of the existing potato value chain, she added. The research will also try to focus on the current potato crisis prevailing in the major potato producing states of India, she said.

Dr B.S. Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, and Dr J.S. Bhalla, Head, Department of Extension Education, congratulated the PAU student for this achievement.
