PAU Rechristens State-Of-Art Labs As Dr G.S.Kalkat Labs

Farm Varsity Organises Field Day On Crop Diversification
Ludhiana, February 16, 2016: The State-of-Art Biocontrol Laboratories at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have been rechristened as Dr G.S. Kalkat Biocontrol Laboratories, informed Dr P.K. Khanna, Registrar, PAU. The decision was taken during 360th meeting of Academic Council. Dr Kalkat, Chairman, Punjab State Farmers’ Commission and former Vice-Chancellor, PAU is a renowned agriculture scientist, who has played a pivotal role in the agriculture development of India, in general and Punjab, in particular.
FARM VARSITY ORGANIZES FIELD DAY ON CROP DIVERSIFICATION
Ludhiana: More than 200 farmers participated in the field day on crop diversification at village Gho , organized by the Farm Advisory Service Scheme along with seed farm, Pathankot. Dr. GS Buttar, Additional Director, Extension Education, PAU, presided over the function and shared valuable suggestions with the farmers. The Incharge, Seed Farm, Pathankot, Dr Paramjit Singh and District Extension Specialist, Dr. Amit Kaul, along with experts from agricultural department, Pathankot, delivered lectures on crop diversification, production and protection technologies of various field crops and allied fields. Farmers took keen interest in the various demonstrations at the seed farm.
