PAU organises sports events

Ludhiana, October 16, 2012: The Director of Students’ Welfare of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Dr D.S. Cheema informed that various sports events are being organised in the university as a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations. Three cricket and two basketball matches were held between the faculty and the staff of the PAU and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary University (GADVASU) in the grounds of the university, said he, adding that competition also took place in the category of men and women. A tug-of-war between the staff and faculty of both the universities will be held on October 17, which will be followed by PAU cross country race for faculty, staff, students and retirees (men and women), on October 18. Dr Cheema told that volleyball matches will be organized between the faculty of PAU and GADVASU in addition to the competition in men category. Hockey tournament involving four universities will be held on November 2 and 5, added he.
