Ludhiana, October 20, 2015: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with M/s Vishivkarma Solar Energy Corporation, Phillaur. Under this pact, PAU has offered non-exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the Forced Circulation Solar Dryer, developed by the university to the company. Dr Balwinder Singh, Director of Research, PAU and Mr Vijay Dhiman, Proprietor, Vishivkarma Solar Energy Corporation signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institute and company.
Dr Ashok Kumar, Additional Director of Research (FMBE); Dr V.S. Sohu, Director, Technology Marketing and IPR Cell; Dr V.S.Hans, Director, School of Energy Studies for Agriculture; and other members of PAU faculty were also present on the occasion.
Dr. V.S. Hans said that the dryer uses solar energy for drying of turmeric and is an environment friendly, low cost and efficient technology. It reduces the drying time significantly besides enhancing the quality. The technology has been jointly developed by Dr. Sukhmeet Singh, Research Engineer, School of Energy Studies for Agriculture; Dr. VS Hans, Director, School of Energy Studies for Agriculture; Er. RS Gill, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering; and Dr. TC Mittal, Extension Engineer, Dept. of Processing and Food Engineering, PAU, Ludhiana.
