PAU Holds Awareness Camp For Farm Women

Ludhiana, November 24, 2016: The department of Extension Education and Communication Management organized an awareness campaign on safe drinking water and a training programme on income generation activities for rural women in village Boparai, district Ludhiana. More than 50 women participated in this programme. Demonstrations were held to create awareness among the masses for using the water testing kit developed by the department of Microbiology , PAU , in which water of 25 households was tested free of cost to encourage the use of these kits. Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur, Professor, motivated the women to test drinking water regularly and maintain the hygiene of the water supply system.

The students of BSc. Home Science, under the guidance of Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur, Asst. Professor held demonstrations for making detergent powder, phenol and tie dye .Women were encouraged to start income generation activities and enhance their family income.
