PAU to hold three-month training course for young farmers

Ludhiana, December 3, 2014: The Directorate of Extension Education of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organise a training course on “Integrated Crop Production” for the young farmers from January 1 to March 31, 2015. The matriculate youth, in the age group of 20 to 40, from all the districts of Punjab are eligible for the training, to be held at Kairon Kisan Ghar, PAU, Ludhiana.

Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, said that the trainees will be educated about various aspects of agriculture in addition to subsidiary occupations for income enhancement. He said that the interested candidates should submit their application forms, carrying their passport size photograph duly signed by the Sarpanch, to the Directorate of Extension Education, PAU latest by December 29, 2014. The interview will be held on December 30 at 10.00 a.m. at Kairon Kisan Ghar, PAU, Ludhiana, he informed, while asking the candidates to bring their matriculation certificate and proof of age alongwith them. Dr Sidhu further said that the selected candidates will have to deposit a sum of Rs 1000 as security, which will be refunded only to the candidates who complete their course successfully. The course fee is Rs 300 whereas Rs100 will be charged per month for accommodation, he added.
