PAU ALUMNUS APPOINTED AS VICE-CHANCELLOR OF CANBERRA VARSITY, AUSTRALIA

Ludhiana, September 9, 2016: Professor Hargurdeep Singh Saini, an alumnus of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canberra, Australia. He did his Masters from PAU; and doctorate in Plant Physiology from the University of Adelaide, Australia. Afterwards, he served as Vice-President of the University of Toronto, Canada. In Canada, he has served at four Universities in various capacities and been deeply involved in diverse research projects.

On assuming the charge of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canberra, Dr Saini said that he came to Australia as student and now again as Vice-Chancellor of the prestigious University. “It is a moment of great happiness for me,” he stated.

The Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon and other senior officials of PAU congratulated Dr Saini for this big achievement.
