Ferozepur, August 23, 2019: The members of the “Revenue Patwar Union of Punjab” today threatened to sit on one hour dharna on August 29 demanding “equal pay” for all the Patwaris in the Punjab.
While addressing the press conference in Press Club Ferozepur, Mohan Singh President of the union revealed that there is huge difference of the salaries between two Patwaris appointed on the same day. “We need to look into this thing as few Patwaris who are working very hard, are getting less salaries”, he said.
“Besides we demand that the probation period for the Patwaris should be three years instead of five years. The training period of the Patwaris should also be included in the probation period. Besides we demand restoration of old pension scheme, release of instalments and DAs and regular appointment of new Patwaris against 200 vacant posts”, he added.
“We, also condemn the state government’s policy to appoint new Patwaris on Adhoc basis. The appointment of Patwaris on adhoc basis will ruin the revenue system”, said Mohan Singh and other members of the union.
The members threatened to intensify their protest after the dharna on August 29.
