Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana felicitates its student Gurnihal Singh Garcha
Ludhiana, September 17, 2018: Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana organized a felicitation ceremony to honour its student Gurnihal Singh Garcha, BALLB-2ndYear. Gurnihal Singh brought laurels to the country by winning India’s first skeet medal at International shooting sports Federation (ISSF) World Championship in Changwon, South Korea, held every four years. He won an individual bronze medal amongst 56 participants representing 32 countries. Gurnihal Singh is the first Indian to win this prestigious medal ever. The Indian team participating also secured IInd position in the event with a score of 355/375 hits. Gurnihal Singh, had been bringing honour to the country earlier also. He won team silver at Sydney World Cup 2018. He bagged Individual silver and team Gold at Ist National shooting Championship held at Delhi and Individual Silver and Team Gold at All India Inter-University held at Jaipur. Prof.Ravi Inder Singh, Director, P.U. Regional Centre said that we are proud to have students like Gurnihal Singh, who bring laurels for the country and a great motivation to rest of the students. Dr. Shiv Kumar Dogra, Coordinator, BALLB and Sports Incharge said that it is a moment of great pride for all of us here at PURC, Ludhiana. The function was attended by faculty members, students of PURC and prominent media houses at Panjab University, Regional Centre, Ludhiana.
