Panjab University Principal’s Association office-bearers meet higher authorities of DPI Colleges, Punjab
Ludhiana, August 11, 2019: Panjab University Principal’s Association through its office bearers met the higher authorities of DPI Colleges, Punjab. The office bearers met the three DDPIs, Dr Jagdeep, Dr G.S.Brar and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Gill. The association submitted its memorandum regarding the long pending demands of the Colleges and had a long fruitful discussion in a very healthy and congenial environment. The office informed the association that the notification regarding the regularization of the 127 Assistant Professors under grant in aid scheme was on the cards and that will be released shortly. The College Principals Association requested the DPI to kindly allow the colleges to fill the vacant posts covered under 1925 posts that have fallen vacant because of one reason or the other. Many colleges have been suffering due to this. The DPI (C) authorities assured that the problems the colleges are facing shall be sorted out in a time bound manner. Regarding the regularization of the grants, the DPI Office on this occasion requested the Colleges that the utilization certificate of the grant-in-aid be sent to the DPI office soon after the disbursement so that a speedy mechanism is sorted out for the regularization of college grants. The DPI Office is committed to help the colleges in every possible manner and the colleges are also requested to support the office in every possible manner, said Dr Gill. The matter of the pay protection of the College Principals was also discussed and it was assured that a time bound notification is going to be released very soon. The meeting ended on a very positive note. The office bearers, president Dr N.R.Sharma, Principal SUS PUCC, Guruharsahai, Dr R.S.Jhanji, Principal A.S. College, Khanna, Dr Savita Uppal, Principal Arya College Ludhiana, Dr Tarlok Bandhu and Dr Kuldip Singh represented the Principals Association. The Panjab University Principal Association (PUPA) requested all the principals of the affiliated colleges that they need to come up with all their issues pertaining to whatever matter, CAS or Pay protection or any other issues pertaining to the smooth administration of the college. The principals association is committed to sort out the problems our community is facing from any front, said Dr Dinesh Sharma, General Secretary of the association.
