Ludhiana, January 29, 2013: Qaisra Sheikh, President, Central and North Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce Industry (CNPWCCI) Pakistan has said the governments of both the Nations should work for improving relations, so that trade between the two nations could further improve.

Interacting with the media persons here today, she said trade got worst affected whenever relations between the two nations got strained. She alongwith an eight member delegation from Pakistan was in the city today for an interaction with leaders of CICU, Ludhiana and women entrepreneurs.

The delegation is supposed to visit to Amritsar and Chandigarh also. She told that the relations between the two nations were cordial. That made them possible to visit here, she said.

She told that the life style, language and dresses were similar in both Punjabs, therefore, there was a need of import and export of goods on both sides.

She said the objective of visiting here was only to promote trade activities on both the sides.   

She revealed that there was a great scope of trade in many segments such as embroidery, fashion designing, engineering, tractor industry and apparel.

Qaisra Sheikh appealed to traders’ community of the state to come forward for strengthening trade ties between both Punjabs. She gave more stress on promoting fashion designing.

On the occasion, Qaisra Sheikh signed an MOU with Upkar Singh Ahuja, Joint Secretary, Chamber of Industry and Commerce, for promotion of trade between both Punjabs.

Among others, Punjab Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon and Advisor to Punjab CM Maheshinder Singh Grewal also spoke.
