Chandigarh, July 16, 2013:The Punjab Government has constituted the organising committee for upcoming 4th World Cup Kabaddi. The Government has also constituted the other committees for the smooth conduction of the World Kabaddi Cup.
Disclosing this here today an official Spokesman said that Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister Punjab is chief patron while Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister is Chairman, Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Member Parliament and Sikander Singh Maluka are Senior Vice Chairman and Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue and Information and Public Relations Minister, Pawan Kumar Tinnu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Sports) and Pargat Singh, MLA are Vice Chairmen.
He said that Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Culture affairs, Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Principal Secretary, Financial Commissioner Taxation, Finance, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister, MD, PIDB, Secretary, Sports, Manvesh Singh and Ajay Mahajan Special Principal Secretaries to Deputy Chief Minister, Concerned Deputy Commissioners and Puneet Chandhok, Coordinator. Director Sports is organising secretary.
He said Chief Secretary has been deputed as the Chairman of the Executive Committee whereas Principal Secretary, Department of Culture Affairs as Chairman of Cultural Programme Committee (opening and closing ceremonies), Secretary, Sports and Youth Services as Chairman of Ceremony and Entertainment Committee, Principal Secretary, Finance as Chairman of Finance and Marketing Committee, Principal Secretary, Public Relation and Information as Chairman of Media Committee, Director General of Police as Chairman of Security Arrangement Committee, Dr. Manmohan Singh as Chairman of Medical and Anti Doping Committee, Pargat Singh, MLA, Jalandhar Cantt as Chairman of Technical Committee, State Transport Commissioner as the Chairman of Transport Committee and concerned Deputy Commissioners have been made the Chairman of the Venue Committees.
