Orders for disciplinary action against 25 teachers involved in mass copying in Punjab

Chandigarh, February 13, 2015: Taking serious note of the report submitted by Punjab School Education Board after probing the reported case of mass copying during the annual examination of 10th and 12th in 2014, the Principal Secretary of the Education Department C. Roul has ordered disciplinary action against the erring teachers.
Disclosing this here today an Official spokesman of the Education Department said that 25 teachers have been indicted in probe and among these teachers one from Fazilka, 18 from Ferozepur and 6 teachers belongs to district Sangrur. He said that disciplinary action has also been ordered against 3 other teachers who were charged for the negligence during the evaluation of answer sheets.
The spokesman said that on the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab instructions to all the CEOs, DEOs, Principal/Head Masters and other employees of the department has been issued to act strictly to curb the copying in the state. He said that anyone found guilty in this unethically practice would be taken to task.
