OPENING: Corporate Cricket Tournament begins at GNE ground

Ludhiana, December 1, 2012: In its Endeavour to promote sports in society, Punjab Agro implements Works (PAIW) - Distributor - Tata Steel for Punjab, organised a Corporate Cricket Tournament at GNE ground here today.

The opening match was played between Rockman and Monte Carlo. Monte carlo won the match by 5 wickets. Monte Carlo won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rockman scored 69 runs in 10 overs, with help of 35 runs scored by Rakesh. Parveen and Rakesh from Monte Carlo took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. Batting second Monte Carlo won by 5 wickets with help of 41 runs scored by Pankaj. Pankaj (Monte Carlo) was declared Man of the match.

The second match was played between Era Jewelers and Impire Golf Estate. The former won the match. Imperial Golf Estate won the toss and elected to bowl first. ERA Jewelers Scored 152 run in 10 overs with help of 97 run scored by Pawan. Batting second Imperial Golf Estate managed to score 65 runs with help of 15 runs scored by Atul. Pawan was adjudged Man of the match. 

Man of the match was awarded with a trophy from Punjab Agro Implements Works and gift voucher from ERA Jewellers.

It may be recalled here that all the matches will be played on Saturdays and Sundays as per the below Schedule:

League Matches- On 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th December, 2012 

Quarter Finals - 15th December, 2012

Semi Final and Final Matches - 16th December, 2012

Timings for all the Matches will be – 7 AM to 5 PM
