OPA team at HP Centre of Excellence, Singapore

Ludhiana, July 23, 2018: A team of Indian printers led by Offset Printers’ Association visited HP Indigo Centre of Excellence at Singapore recently. This group visit of OPA delegation was sponsored by HP to explore the new inks available for HP Indigo 12000 with HD & WS6900 Digital Press. Expand new business opportunities with an array of HP Indigo Electro Ink technologies and special inks including Fluorescent Inks, Fade Resistant Inks, Invisible Inks and many more.
The HP Graphics Solutions Business Centre of Excellence is installed with complete graphics portfolio and partner solutions along with an extensive gallery of applications – from stamps to building wraps - make it easier for customers to unlock the full power of digital printing.
The OPA delegation includes print leaders of Jammu, Patiala, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar, besides its own members. This 18 member delegation reached Singapore on 11th July and participated in the technical sessions on 12th and 13th July, besides practically exploring the running HP Indigo machines. The technical session was divided in commercial, label and commercial segments. Renowned speakers were there to deliver the seminars and guide the printers about role of Digital Printing and future trend of Printing. HP also showcased its coming projects and launched some special inks for HP Indigo 12000 in the presence of delegation.
All the delegates were quite impressed with the latest introductions, speaking on the occasion Mr. Ravi Gupta, President J&K Offset Printers Association said that the event provided us an excellent opportunity not only to get in-depth understanding of the HP Digital machines but to get the new and innovative idea for printing with style.
Mr. Parvesh Roy Mangla, President, Patiala Printers Association appreciated the gesture of HP and thanked for the courtesy extended by OPA in involving printers of other cities for this most educative visit ever undertaken. He said, OPA is always helpful in opening our eyes not only for new ideas but also for existing rules and tax laws etc. these selfless efforts of OPA are commendable. Mr. Madhu Sudan Kalia, President Hoshiarpur Printers Association said, it is my first visit to any foreign country, I am thankful to OPA for involving the printers of small cities for the progress in printing. I have learnt many new ideas and would like to utilize these in my city. I am thankful to HP for opening our mind and for the finest hospitality I have ever came across.
Mr. Ashwani Gupta, GS Jalandhar Printers Association said, I am thankful to HP Indigo for this wonderful educative visit, at the same time feel obliged to OPA for including printers of other associations also in this group visit arranged by OPA with the support of HP Indigo. He said, OPA always take lead in building complete networking for the overall development of printing and packaging industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Kamal Chopra said, printing is changing and we are living in the age of transformation, only Ink on Paper is no more the printing. Now you have to print your thoughts, you can do wonder with printing using different ideas. The survival of a printer is in producing in bulk quantities, so as to be competitive or producing (printing) differently. The only mantra of survival in future is ‘to retain your customer’ we have to think how to retain the customer, it can be by way of producing at economical rates or to produce differently to remain aloof in the competition. This visit has great meanings, the delegates were taught how to produce differently and how to earn more in producing small quantities in a different style so as to ‘retain the customer’. I am glad that all the delegates are impressed with the thoughts given by different speakers. HP Indigo arranged this group visit and I am really thankful to the management for providing wonderful hospitality. Hope HP will organize more such visits for the benefit of the printers of India.
