OPA distributes Grant-in-Aid at Coimbatore

Ludhiana, September 16, 2014: On the demand of the delegates who visited IPEX-2014 at London, it was decided to distribute the grant in South India. The grant to the tune of Rs. 9.5 lakh was sanctioned by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India for the delegates who visited IPEX -2014 at London in the month of March this year. It is a matter of proud that with the initiation of C D Kumaravel Coimbatore Master Printers Association (COMPRIA) decided to host the function at Hotel Rathna Residency, Coimbatore. It was for the first time ever that Offset Printers’ Association distributed the grant outside Ludhiana and for the purpose COMPRIA organised a memorable function.
The function was presided over by C D Kumaravel, President COMPRIA and Hony. General Secretary, AIFMP. S M Jamkhandi, Director MSME, Government of India has very kindly consented to be the Chief Guest of the evening, while Kamal Chopra, General Secretary OPA & Co Chairman Intl. Relations, AIFMP and C N Ashok, CMD Autoprint, joined the function as Guest of Honour.
Welcoming the delegates of IPEX and printers from various cities, K Janakarajan, Secretary COMPRIA said, it is a tremendous moment for the COMPRIA, because it is for the first time that such a grant is being distributed to any association of South India. We feel honoured on this occasion to welcome Jamkhandi, who was kind enough to spare his valuable time and is with us even on Sunday evening. I am thankful to Kamal Chopra and Offset Printers’ Association for agreeing to our proposal to organise this function at Coimbatore. It is a matter of proud for the COMPRIA that print leaders from 10 cities are present here today. I am especially thankful to the delegates and printers who have come from as far as Chennai and Bangalore to be with us this evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamal Chopra said he is here not only to distribute the grant, but to spread the message of universal brotherhood and to peruse the printers for the complete networking. The grant, he said, is sanctioned under the international cooperation scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India for visiting international exhibitions, so that the Indian printers may get exposure to the things to come and about the latest innovations. He said, I am thankful to Kumaravel, for organising this ceremony here so that the printers from this part of the country may also know the schemes and benefits available with the GoI for the industry. It is perhaps for the first time that such a function is being organized in South India, for these efforts of only Kumaravel and the team of COMPRIA needs to be appreciated. Chopra explained various schemes of the GoI available for the growth and development of trade and industry. For the purpose of giving complete information about the government schemes, he said, OPA has published a booklet. This booklet was distributed to the presidents/representatives of various associations present there by S M Jamkhandi.

S. M. Jamkhandi in his address appreciated the activities of OPA and gave details about the supportive measures of the GOI in developing MSMEs. He said, I am happy to be here today to distribute the grant received by the Offset Printers’ Association for the exposure visit to exhibition at London. The government supports such visits so that you may learn latest technologies and can improve your production and quality upto the international standards. I am happy to note that it is for the first time that the grant is being received by the printers from various parts of Tamilnadu and Karnataka, it will surely motivate more and more printers to take benefits from the schemes of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, he said.

M Palanivel, Dy Director MSME DI, Coimbatore explained the various schemes available with the ministry for the trade and industry. He further assured his support to all printers of Coimbatore on various schemes for their betterment. He also encouraged the printers to establish printing and packaging cluster at Coimbatore.

During this function among others, C.N. Ashok of Autoprint, A. Sivasubramanian, Secretary TMPF, S. Manickam, Treasurer TMPF and Lakshmi Priya, HOD, Printing Technology, Avinashilingam University were felicitated for their dedications and working for the overall growth and progress of printing industry. Jt. Secretary of COMPRIA proposed the Vote of Thanks and the visitors were delighted with a good dinner.
