One Act Play and General Dance mesmerized everyone on 3rd day of Youth Festival of C- Zone at DAV College
Jalandhar, November 1, 2019: One Act Play and General Dance mesmerized everyone on the third day of Youth Festival of C- Zone being held at DAV College, Jalandhar. On the third day of this festival there were competitions of general dance, quiz, mimicry, one act play and skit. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr.Sushil Rinku (MLA, Jalandhar South) while the guest of honour was Shri R.K.Gupta. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other distinguished guests were welcomed by Principal Dr.S.K.Arora, Vice Principal Prof.V.K.Sareen, Vice Principal Prof.Arun Mehra, Dr.J.R.Garg (Dean EMA), Registrar Prof.Ajay Agarwal, Deputy Registrar Prof.Anu Gupta, Staff Secretary Prof.Vipin Jhanjhi, Prof.S.S.Randhawa , PRO Prof.Manish Khanna , Prof.Ekjot and Team Coordinator Youth Festival Dr.Pradeep Kaur by presenting a flower bouquet. After this ceremony of lightning of lamp was done. On this occasion, Chief Guest Mr.Sushil Rinku said that it is very important to organise cultural activities to keep the youth connected with their traditions and culture and this youth festival proves to be very effective in all this. He said that education is a powerful weapon in the prest time which helps to overcome the malpractices of the society. Tejinder Bittu also appealed the students to preserve their cultural heritage. Guest of Honour Shri R.K. Gupta thanked DAV College for making him a part of this youth festival . He said that today he got the chance to see many cultures of India. There is a need to protect today's young generation needs to be protected from the vulgarity and viciousness being served in the cinema. Today, youth should take inspiration from Indian culture and traditions and must contribute towards nation building, only then we will be able to fulfill the right responsibility of being a country with the most young citizens. In the competitions held today, one of them was general dance which not only made the audience learn about different cultures but also forced them to dance. Apart from this, in Mimicry , teams made voices of different celebrities and even instruments. Three teams participated in One Act play yesterday while two teams participated today in which the students demonstrated the best of their art by taking up issues like exploitation of women and respecting the elders . In addition to this, the students also raised many social issues in the skit. Principal. Dr. S. K. Arora, Vice Principal. Prof. V. K. Sareen, Dean EMA Dr. J. R. Garg, Prof. S. S. Randhawa , Staff Secretary Prof. Vipin Jhanjhi, Prof. Pradeep Kaur honoured the guests by giving them mementos. On this occasion, Prof. Hemant Kumar , Dr. Manu Sood , Prof. Naveen Saini , Prof. S. K. Middha , Prof. Saurabh , Prof. Pradeep kaur, Prof. Geetika Jain, Dr. Sahib Singh, Prof. Jyoti Vardhan Mahajan, Prof. Heena Arora, Prof. Neha Malhota, Prof. Shweta, Prof. Surbhi Sharma , Prof. Anisha Chadha , Prof. Sameer along with other staff were present.
