Old currency notes shall remain valid till 14 in himachal buses: Bali

Dharamshala, November 13, 2016: The transport minister Himachal Pradesh G S Bali said that the state government has decided to accept old 500 and 1000 rupees notes from passengers in Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses till 14 of this month.
Talking to this correspondent at Dharamshala on Sunday Bali said,"As the new currency is not available with most of the public in Himachal,the government had decided to accept old 500 and 1000 notes from passengers to avoid harassment. However I still request the public to use e booking for long journeys to purchase bus tickets."
He said that though the currency of lower denomination has been made available to conductors, but still the public should cooperate with the staff for smooth and comfortable journey.
