On occasion of National Unity Day, “Run For Unity” organised in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, October 31, 2019: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), 'Run For Unity event was organised in the city today. This event was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal. More than 500 city residents participated in Run for Unity. At the “Run for Unity” event, the Deputy Commissioner also administered oath to the city residents. The officials of all government departments were administered oath to maintain unity, peace and communal harmony by District Public Relations Officer Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal during a function organised at Bachat Bhawan, here today. While addressing an impressive gathering at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said that all of us should dedicate ourselves for the unity, integrity and security of our nation and should also make efforts to spread this message amongst our fellow countrymen. He also spoke about the life and works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Run for Unity race started by Guru Nanak Stadium and passed through Fountain Chowk, College Road, before culminating at the Nehru Rose Garden. This race was attended by more than 500 athletes, children and city residents. Prominent among those present on the occasion included MC Additional Commissioner Mr Sanyam Aggarwal, ADC (G) Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu, SDM Payal Mr Sagar Setia, ADCP (H) Mr Deepak Pareek, SDM (West) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi, ACP (H) Mr Manoj Gorki, District Sports Officer Mr Ravinder Singh, District Public Relations Officer Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, besides several others.
