Chandigarh, December 28, 2018: A dental hygiene awareness camp was organised by the NSS unit of Panjab University in
collaboration with Dr.H.S.Judge Institute of Dental Science and Hospital, PU, Chandigarh on the 4th day of ongoing seven day NSS camp for student volunteers.
Dr.Ikreet Singh, NSS program officer, and Assistant Professor, Community Dentistry, gave a presentation on the importance of dental hygiene and its impact on general well being. This was followed by dental screening examination of 232 NSS student volunteers.
Almost all the students had unhealthy plaque deposition and around 50 percent had occlusion cavities. All the patients were given advise on dental interventions required, and how to take care of their teeth.
In the afternoon, all the students went for the SWACHHTA AWARENESS campaign in the campus.
The volunteers had gone to each and every house to sensitize the residents about the the difference between dry and wet waste. The students got some interesting insights while conducting this door to door campaign.
