Chandigarh / Ludhiana, February 20, 2013: The NRI Commission today issued notice to Police Commissioner Ludhiana on the complaint filed by an NRI and sought the report till March 6.

Disclosing this here today a Spokesman of the Commission said that Shivji Kumar, a Holland citizen, an NRI, alleged in his complaint that his sister-in-law Neelam Sharma has withdrawn money from the four fixed deposits of his mother Leelawati after her death by doing fake signature, in connivance with the officials of UCO Bank. He also alleged that Neelam Sharma had also transferred a plot at Haibowal in her name by giving a wrong affidavit. He further alleged that on his complaint, which was made in the year 2007, the police took four years to register an FIR against accused at Daresi Police Station and subsequently transferred the case to NRI Police Station, Ludhiana and now even after 15 months, no charge sheet has been filed.

The Spokesman said that the NRI Commission issued notice to Commissioner of Police Ludhiana to submit the status report on or before March 6, 2013 of the said FIR and the reasons for delayed registration and not filling the challan in the court.

Meanwhile, a report from Ludhiana said an FIR was registered against a Ludhiana resident Neelam Sharma and two employees of UCO Bank, Ajit Kumar and DP Bansal, on the complaint of Shivji Kumar, a citizen of Holland, on August 1, 2011.

It may be mentioned here that NRI Shivji Kumar, hails from Ludhiana. He had submitted a complaint to Ludhiana police way back in the year 2007. However, the police took four years to register an FIR at the Daresi police station.

Later, the case was transferred to NRI police station, Ludhiana, about an year ago.

Shivji Kumar said he has been coming from Holland every time and now for getting justice but to no use.

He visited here in connection with his case on August 28 last year and remained here for nearly two months. Again he visited here on December 18, but still the charge-sheet has not been presented in the court so far.
