Ludhiana, February 4, 2019: As per the new directions issued by the Rural Development & Panchayat Department of Punjab government, the Rural Area certificates would now be issued by the Block Development & Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) instead of concerned SDM/Tehsildar. The applicants would also have to attach other necessary documents such as a self declaration form, two passport size photographs, Rs 60 as fee, copy of Aadhaar card, residence proof of last five years (either voter card/driving license/passport/electricity bill/water bill/telephone bill). If the applicant is a minor, then the application form requires signatures of his parents or of legal guardian.
