No Typographical Error In Notifications Recognising Kamagata Maru Incident, Kuka Movement & Ghadar Movement

Chandigarh, April 25, 2016:There was no typographical error in the notifications recognising Kamagata Maru incident, Kuka Movement and Ghadar Movement as alleged by some newspaper reports, informed the spokesman from the department of Freedom Fighters, Punjab.
He said that Ghadar Movement has been recognised since the inception of the scheme implemented by Government of India. Kuka Movement was recognised by GOI in 2008 and Kamagata Maru incident was recognised by GOI as freedom movement in 2009 and all those who laid their lives or participated in these movements are eligible for all the benefits that are available to other freedom fighters.
The spokesman said that the Punjab Government has the highest regard for the freedom fighters who fought tirelessly to free the country from the yoke of foreign rule. He said that in case the wards of the freedom fighters of these movements have any specific issue, the government will look in it sympathetically.
