Jalandhar, December 4, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar inaugurated the ninth 5 day Inspire Camp. 14 different schools across Punjab have sent their topper students to participate in the camp. It is heartening to note that year after year brilliant students from across Punjab gather at one place breaking institutional barriers for intellectual interface and growth.
The inaugural session of the INSPIRE Camp started with the lighting of the Lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest Dr S.P. Gupta (Member, KMV Managing Committee), Dr Deepali Luthra (Member, KMV Managing Committee) , Dr Karmeshu (School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida) and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi . After the felicitations of the worthy guests, Science anthem was recited and displayed through presentation.
In her Inaugural note, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi told that KMV is not only an education institution rather it has revolutionary history. Lala Devraj ji took the steps for women education in India & this idea blossomed in KMV. She also added that innovation & creativity are the inherent concepts of KMV and KMV was the first institution to organise INSPIRE Camp in 2011. This program inculcates the scientific vision in the students to achieve new heights in their career. In his address, Chief Guest of the program Dr S.P. Gupta (Member, KMV Managing Committee) said that the students of INSPIRE Internship Program have got a chance to innovate something new in Medical & technological field. They all are blessed as they can interact with the fraternity of this autonomous & heritage institute.
The first mentor of the day was Major General (retd.) G.G. Dwivedi. He made a very enlightening and inspiring presentation on Date with Destiny (Daring to Dream). He emphasized on how to realize your dream with five P's, Passion, Potential, Persistence, Purpose & Principles. He said life is meant to take challenges and to get success out of it. Throwing light on the Make in India policy, he said that the policy will be fruitful only if the youth of India will make their contribution in it to make India the Best place for living. The second mentor of the day was Prof. Dr. Karmeshu from Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida. The topic of his presentation was Probability and Computing. He introduced probability as a rational framework to deal with inherent uncertainty. He insisted on the significance of probability in the field of Engineering, Economics, Biology, Computer Applications and Politics. He discussed about Statistical Regularities, axioms of probability and various concepts of probability in detail and instigated way. He also introduced the concept of pie, it's interesting random distribution and its approximation using concept of probability. He explained Monte Carlo method- a stochastic technique and its application in the field of economics to nuclear physics to regulate the flow of traffic. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar (School of Mathematics Thapar University, Patiala) made his presentation on Vedic Mathematics. He started his lecture with the sutras and sub sutras of Vedic Mathematics. Out of all the sutras, he elaborated the concept of Division in Vedic Mathematics. The main motive of his lecture was to remove the fear of Mathematics to promote to Indian Mathematics and to develop Analytical thinking through Vedic Maths. Ms Renu Sharma co-ordinated an activity entitled Beauty of Mathematics in Nature- A Walk, in which she related the sequence and numbers in the mathematics to the nature. It is worth mentioning that tomorrow also the INSPIRE Program will witness many illuminating presentations by the mentors of national & international acclaim.
