Ludhiana, November 27, 2016: NIMA Ludhiana and Diabetes Free World (DFW) today participated in a multi speciality camp in Income Tax Office, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana.
Dr Surinder Gupta led team served more than 200 people for diabetes detection and management apart from free blood glucose test dietary advice and diet charts were given and free initial medicines were distributed.
Dr Jagtar Singh, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax and Sh A.K Dhir Additional Commissioner (Income Tax), welcomed the chief guest Sh.B K Jha, Chief Commissioner, Ludhiana. He complimented the organisors and participating doctors for helping the people suffering from various diseases.
Doctors team from Deep Hospital led by Dr Baldeep singh, Dr H.S.Kang, Dr Geeti, Dr Priyanka Kalra and Dr Sunil Mittu organised Free multi-speciality clinics.
DFW volunteers Sh Narinder Sharma, Mrs Franky Singla, Mr Thakur Sarahan and Mr Rakesh assisted Dr Surinder Gupta.
While interacting with patients, Dr Surinder Gupta said that in winters diabetics should be careful about their Diet, as due to shortened day hours, walking and physical activity get reduced.
Diabetics he said, can enjoy "Gajar-Halwa on daily basis. Just adding grated carrots in a glass of skimmed milk, can be boiled and natural sweeteners like resins or dried dates can be added or artificial sweeteners like Sucralose can be added to develop taste.
Similarly Kheer can be prepared by boiling (water boiled) Rice in a glass of skimmed milk.
Diabetics with Post viral fever joint pains should wear winter warm clothes and plenty of fluids. Pain relieving medications need to be taken for two or three weeks.
